Malabrigo Yarns
We are so excited about Malabrigo Yarns and the company that produces it that we could hardly wait to tell you about it. Malabrigo comes from a small, family-owned company in Uruguay. The family works closely with a women's cooperative in rural Uruguay to produce this line of incredible soft merino wool yarn in over 100 wonderful color variations. The subtle variations in color and texture are possible because they are hand dyed and because of the way that the merino wool is spun. Besides knitting up into wonderful garments this yarn is an excellent felter. The hanks that it comes in shows off the fabulous colors and makes it possible for you to see the color changes. Because the hanks are kettle dyed you have to be careful to order enough for your project at one time. The multicolored hanks show some interesting combinations of colors not found in any other yarn and the multicolored hanks are the same price as the single colored hanks.

Note: In my version of this purse, which is not shown, I used a wonderful button from a local bead and button maker, C-KoopBeads, who's buttons we are also proud to carry. C-KoopBeads is just one of the local button makers who's buttons that we carry. The pattern itself is from Malabrigo Yarns and the designer is Bernadette St. Amant who lives in the Twin Cities area of MN. The pattern is available for purchase from us.
